Do you suspect that you may have a food allergy, but don’t know how to figure out which foods might be causing the problem?  There is a solution!  The Elimination Diet is an easy and accurate way to identify which foods those are so that you can cut them out of your diet and avoid having to suffer the daily discomforts and consequences of food intolerances, sensitivities, or allergies.

The elimination diet works by removing commonly-allergenic food groups from your diet for 2-4 weeks (the Elimination Phase), then adding those foods back into your diet one at a time to test for a reaction (the Challenge Phase).  The Elimination Phase gives your body time to detoxify and clear itself of any negative influence those foods are having on your body.  If no reaction occurs when adding a particular food back in to your diet during the Challenge Phase, that food probably isn’t one that you are intolerant or sensitive to. 

The food groups that are excluded during the 2-4 week Elimination Phase include dairy, soy, gluten (pasta, wheat, etc.), eggs, citrus fruits, nightshade vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, and peppers), corn, processed sugars, and caffeine (coffee, tea, and chocolate).
